Conceptual illustrations

Abstract cover art and scientific figure illustrations commissioned by science publishers. For cover art the brief provided can be loose, lung transplant for example, or very detailed. For figure illustrations some form of source material is provided to work from, normally an original version from an author or editor.

“Neil’s illustrations are simultaneously surreal and uncannily accurate. He is able to capture the essence of a person, a relationship or a scientific concept with ease and grace. Working with Neil is a pleasure – he has the ability to listen carefully and produce amazing illustrations that go above and beyond what is expected. He understands both the science and art of creating wonderful scientific illustrations.”
Professor Athena Aktipis, Department of Psychology, Arizona State University, January 2021

“Neil does a fantastic job in transforming simple figures and rough sketches into beautiful illustrations. He is professional and a great pleasure to work with. I can only highly recommend him.”
Petra Gross, Editor, Journal of Cell Science, January 2021
